So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Col. 3:12-13.
Paul is calling us to “put on a heart of compassion, ect.” He is saying that we can and should choose to have these qualities. The reason he gives is that we have been chosen by God. We are set apart. We are loved and forgiven. It is in this knowledge that we are freed to put on a new heart. Today, choose compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience and forgiveness.
