Four (4) Pointers from Adam: Keep the four points in your relating with your spouse, friends, all relationships. As soon as these pointers leave you, your relationship have failed.
1. Say “Please” - To preserve the dignity of the other person.
2. Say “Thank You” - To show others that you recognize the time and efforts they’ve sacrificed in caring for you.
3. Say “Please, Forgive Me” - Remain soft-hearted and humble towards others. We are “for” each other, not against each other.
4. Say “I Love You” - Fill it up as if that is the air you breathe. There can never be enough “I love yous” in our lives.
Words are the foundation for our capacity to relate to others. Words reveal our values in life and in others. Often, we say that we are willing to die for Christ, but rarely are we willing to live for him.
Reflection: If our words became our pets, would we want to go home with our pets? What would our backyard look like?
